Overview

We built accessibility into a browser-based book reader used by publishers: screen reader support, adjustable text contrast, font size controls and audio narration.

Challenges

  • Supporting dyslexia-friendly fonts without breaking the text flow.
  • Showing maths and complex tables clearly on small screens.
  • Adding keyboard shortcuts without clashing with the browser’s own.

Results and impact

Reading views designed and tested for high contrast and readability.

Readers can change contrast, text size and narration to suit them.

Tested with readers with visual impairments.
