Overview

Practitioners had to get through a long enrolment process, and the public directory had to work for everyone, including older people on slow phone connections. We designed the registration service inside Microsoft Power Platform, with step-by-step forms that check credentials as people fill them in and a custom theme that doesn’t look like a standard low-code app. We then redesigned the public directory around a readable search and a location map, with type and spacing tested for older users.

Challenges

  • Keeping confidential practitioner records and documents secure.
  • Building a custom-themed, accessible interface inside standard low-code templates.
  • Keeping directory search quick on poor mobile connections and readable for older users.

Results and impact

A step-by-step registration service that checks credentials as practitioners fill it in.

A public directory with clearer search and a location map, designed for readability.

Accessible type and spacing specifications, and a pattern library for the registry website.
