EU accessibility law: what it means if you sell to Europe

Julien CôteVideo

The European Accessibility Act says many online shops, booking services and banking sites must be usable by people with disabilities. If you sell to people in the EU it can apply to a UK business, though very small service businesses are exempt.

A plug-in won't cover you, and penalties are set country by country. Meanwhile, many disabled shoppers simply leave websites they find difficult, which costs sales long before any regulator gets involved.
